Handmade Book: take one

Here is another of my “one of one” handmade books. I buy old children’s books from the thrift store, and paint over the pages. From there I collage and paint, using mostly my own photos as source material. This one is the result of scrounging up ephemeral images from the many piles in my studio. Some from Albuquerque, some from Arizona, from some the dark recesses of my psyche. Some of the original book illustrations peek though the base coat of paint.
